Well, for maintaining a package you don't need to know programming. It's a bit more about knowing how to make ebuilds :)

I am working on it, there are a few new deps dependencies which will need to be added to the tree:
libopenshot → libopenshot-audio
            → unittest++

Please don't reassign bugs until metadata.xml is finally updated to reflect the new maintainers, otherwise the bugs could get lost if, finally, nothing is committed to the tree at the end :(
