Description vltg0903 2004-07-18 13:55:31 UTC
OK, I hacked Mr Holzer's ebuild a bit, important changes are:
-Installs /etc/env.d/98wine
-Installs /etc/conf.d/wine
-All scripts in /usr/lib/wine/bin and /usr/bin/wine source /etc/conf.d/wine, thus making some of the wrapper scripts from wine-misc obsolete (not sure though)
-Changed $WINE_LOADER to $WINELOADER (in accordance to 'man wine')
-Installs /usr/bin/wineprefixcreate: handles the creation of ~/.wine, calls /usr/lib/wine/bin/wineprefixcreate to build fake windows partition dynamically (i. e. fake windows tarball can be dropped), uses ~/.wine/dosdevices instead of ~/.wine/config to define drives and com-ports
-The default config file I use is from $winesrc/documentation/samples and pretty basic

Try it out and tell me how you liked it... :-)

I'm no heavy user of wine, but it compiles and it seems to be ok. (halflife runs at least)
Comment 4 Chris Bruner 2004-07-20 16:33:42 UTC
trying from bug 57645 (still no joy)

I'm getting a segfault line 39 now. Perhaps I'm not doing it right.

I downloaded the ebuild and put it in my /usr/portage/app-emulation/wine directory. Then I did "ebuild wine-2004-716.ebuild digest"

I wasn't sure what to do with the misc archive.

Hi Chris! Just drop the misc archive into your distfiles directory, the ebuild will make use of it. In fact you _must_ do this, because if you don't, the ebuild will fetch the official wine-20040716-misc file and use this instead, this will bork your wine setup.
