Description Patrick McMunn 2016-01-24 05:00:18 UTC
net-proxy/dansguardian has not been updated upstream in at least a couple of years now. e2guardian is a fork of DansGuardian which is actively maintained. For those wanting an actively maintained web filtering proxy, this currently appears to be one of the few viable options. Because it is a fork of DansGuardian, e2guardian should be fairly easy to implement with only minor modifications to the DansGuadian ebuild.

Reproducible: Always

net-proxy/e2guardian-3.2.0.ebuild

I haven't tested this ebuild extensively. I've only verified that it compiles, installs, and runs on my system. I've only tested it on a 32-bit box. I'll also attach an updated metadata.xml. If needed, I can also attach updated e2guardian.init and e2guardian.logrotate files, but they were simply copied from net-proxy/dansguardian, renamed, and all instances of "dansguardian" inside the files replaced with "e2guardian".

Just a short update. e2guardian 3.4.0.1 is out now, and simply renaming the ebuild works fine for the new version.
