Description Jacob Levine 2004-07-15 22:34:23 UTC
When I enter the mirrorselect command as specified in the installation handbook at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=6 as "mirrorselect -a -s4 -o | grep -ve '^Netselect' >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf" it appears to work correctly, although I get two errors during it's execution. The first three lines of the output read:
"Downloading a list of mirrors...
/usr/sbin/mirrorselect: line 1: portageq: command not found
Downloading 100k segments from 147 server(s)"

There is also a second error later on that was already listed in bug 50831.
Since I am in the middle of an installation I can't provide emerge info, but I am installing 2004.1 on a 2.4.25-gentoo kernel on a Celeron 500 using a stage 2 tarball from a minimal LiveCD. I can't seem to find any manpages online to define these switches I'm running mirrorselect with and since my installation is not complete, I can't bring them up locally. I'm guessing portageq is not an important component of the install.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Followed the installation instructions to step 6.a
2. Executed "mirrorselect -a -s4 -o | grep -ve '^Netselect' >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf"
3.

Actual Results:
Successful execution attended by two errors.

Expected Results:
Successful execution with no errors.

Is there no way to edit the bug I just entered? Regardless, I ran the same command a few minutes later and received the same two errors, so it is reproducible to that degree.
