Description Jay Settle 2004-07-13 11:48:03 UTC
Abiword-2.0.8 is out as a bugfix release. It fixes some table rendering issues and addresses some GCC 3.4 building issues.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

Expected Results:
On ~arch, emerge should possibly get 2.0.8 instead of 2.0.7.

I was able to copy the 2.0.7 ebuild to a portage overlay and bump the version to
get 2.0.8 to compile. I disabled the fix-gcc3.4 patch as it wasn't sticking and
I'm not sure its required anymore (I'm using 3.3.3 yet so it works for me).
Someone with GCC 3.4 should probably test build abiword without the patch to see
if it builds properly with the upstream fixes. If not, the 2.0.7 patch is a two
liner that should be pretty easy to port.

Comment 1 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-13 16:17:13 UTC
there's gonna be a 2.0.9 hotfix release .. i think we better wait for that one..
Comment 2 Jay Settle 2004-07-13 17:00:08 UTC
Understood and thank you.
Comment 3 Jay Settle 2004-07-16 17:15:27 UTC
Abiword-2.0.9 is out now so I suppose requesting 2.0.8 wouldn't make much sense. I was able to take the 2.0.7 ebuild, copy it over to 2.0.9 in an overlay and emerge it after commenting out the patch for gcc-3.4. I'm running gcc-3.3.4 and it compiled sucessfully and I'm currently using it.

Perhaps bug #57680 should supersede this? Close this one?
Comment 5 Jay Settle 2004-08-01 19:31:28 UTC
I agree with comment #4 and as both bugs seem to want the same thing, I'll see if I can actually close this one.
