Description Greg Symons 2004-07-13 10:13:53 UTC
Tried to emerge the latest genkernel since I'd like to use the new real_init functionality, but there's no package:(

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge genkernel
2.
3.

Actual Results:
emerge fails and reports a 404 not found error when trying to download the package

Expected Results:
found the package, downloaded it, and installed it

My current setup checks three mirrors, and I manually check 3 or 4 other ones,
and none of them had the updated package yet.

Hm? It should be on - the ebuild should try and fetch it off dev.gentoo.org?

And so it does. Wierd... it wouldn't do it last night... but now it works. Don't I feel stupid.

I have no idea what could have changed that would have prevented it from working then and allows it to work now. I was installing a new box, though... but I had already bootstrapped and emerged system, as well as syncing portage. The only things I've done since I first tried to emerge genkernel were to finish configuring the system (I built the kernel with 3.02b... maybe installing 3.02b fixed the problem somehow, but I don't see how) and reboot.

Since I can't figure out why it works now, might as well mark this as fixed, or whatever.

Well, the file was missing for a few hours so that's why, I guess... Hope that helps. Marking as RESOLVED FIXED.
