Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-12 22:37:40 UTC
Hi,
As you can see in KDE bug #84994 [http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84994], Ximian OpenOffice fails to start using kdelibs 3.3.0_beta1. A fix for this is done replacing the kxmlguifactory.cpp with the next version in CVS.
I've wrote a -r1 ebuild for kdelibs-3.3.0_beta1 so that ximian ooo is now usable, needing only the kxmlguifactory.cpp file in ${FILESDIR}.

Please, this is an important bug fix, needed for OpenOffice Ximian.

this is a wontfix in my book. I'm not going to patch betaed packages which are package.masked. beta2 will be out in the next few days anyway. if someone needs this patch, doing it by hand should be just fine.

I have the -r1 ebuild in my ebuildpack at my site, but there's a problem: when used on a system where kde3.3.0_beta1 is not unmasked, it messes up all if you don't remove overlay'd kde-base from the tree.
Seems like we can't mask a package in an overlay, so I asked for add it to portage and mask it, in this way who is using beta1 can still use ximain ooo and who uess my ebuildpack isn't messed up by the -r1.
Anyway, I hope beta2 will fix both problems.

beta2 releases, this bug doesn't make sense anymore :)
