Are you sure about that? pygobject has been emitting that warning for at least 4 years now.
In any case, please report this to the redshift developer upstream.
Yeah, I am 99% sure it was not there before; I would have noticed it in the tty. Anyhow, I've reported it upstream at the dev's github page. Someone else already reported the same issue there before me [in Arch Linux]. I'm quite sure it began after the recent python movements. Someone > else already reported the same issue there before me [in Arch Linux]. Um, so instead of you posting the URL to the issue on github just once, we're supposed to look through those four pages on an individual basis, hoping to glean it off the description someone using Arch Linux happened to come up with? Sheesh. This is a tough room. I did not post a link to the issue on github because it added absolutely nothing to what I filed here, but since it *might* make you feel better, Jeroen, here is a link: https://github.com/jonls/redshift/issues/282 Now, would you like to spank me, or can I get back to work? (In reply to thunderrd from comment #5) > Sheesh. I ran into this as well and simply needed to rebuild pygobject to relink against the new libraries provided by python. Not sure why this isn't caught by another tool (probably because it's a python internal). Let me know if that doesn't resolve the issue. Thank you, Alex, I did do that first [see OP]; redshift works fine. I opened this report simply because I *thought* I was being helpful by reporting the message and managed to annoy the devs unintentionally. For anyone interested, Mike [floppym] gave me this in #gentoo-python: emerge -1v $(find /usr/lib*/python3* -name '*cpython-3[3-5].so') This did indeed rebuild pygobject, and made redshift usable again. The message remains, but I've since reported that upstream, as I was told to. If it is not a problem to be handled by gentoo people, [and if there's no one interested], you can close this warning message report. There is at least one other package on my system suddenly spitting out the same message, but I'm not going to report it on the gentoo bugtracker, I'll go straight to the upstream guy. With the second package, again, there's also no loss of functionality after rebuilding pygobject, so the message itself isn't urgent. I'm pretty sure no one around here was or is annoyed. (In reply to Jeroen Roovers from comment #9) > I'm pretty sure no one around here was or is annoyed. Glad to hear that. Maybe I was being too sensitive. Not sensitive enough, I would say. :) Commit https://github.com/jonls/redshift/commit/442fb9bd5df72e6eb89c34352882ac80f9c9660b with a fix has made it into release 1.11 of a few hours ago. Now in Gentoo, enjoy :) # git show --stat | sed 's,@gentoo.org,@g.o,' commit fb6b2788618c34808d25853f4625afb63a7d0bcc Author: Sebastian Pipping <sping@g.o> Date: Sun Jan 3 05:15:04 2016 +0100 x11-misc/redshift: 1.11 (bug #568164) x11-misc/redshift/Manifest | 1 + x11-misc/redshift/redshift-1.11.ebuild | 86 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2 files changed, 87 insertions(+) |
