So, the issue with gcc caused by -O2 in ${WORKDIR}/grub-0.97/config.status:
S["GRUB_CFLAGS"]="-O2 -fno-strict-aliasing"
Grub crashes with any of [-O1,-O2,-Os]. This happens with x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.9.3 but not with x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.7.4 nor x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.8.5.
So, if commands fail during pkg_postinst it can actually be worse to die rather than to continue, as there's no rolling back at that point. The actual issue as to why it dies is bug 564890 , so I'm going to mark this one as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 564890 *** |
