Firefox 42 breaks a number of plugins, including the native pdf renderer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
emerge firefox
Actual Results:  
The pdf renderer fails to associate with the application/pdf mime type.  A number of plugins such as pterosaur also stop working.

Expected Results:  
The pdf renderer and plugins continue to work across versions.

These changes were made upstream to prevent malicious code from being introduced. Plugin developers are required to update their plugins if they wish to have them compatible with firefox.

Are you sure this is an issue with the plugin api changing?  I didn't think the native PDF renderer relied on the plugin api.
