Description David Morton 2004-07-09 14:06:24 UTC
The install script in netpbm-10.20 tries to install /var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20/analyzer/manweb
but manweb actually sits one directory up in /var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20 and so the install script dies with a "does not exist" error

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge netpbm
2.
3.

Actual Results:
/var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20/buildtools/install.sh -c -m 755
       \
  /var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20/analyzer/manweb
/var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/image//usr//bin
install: /var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20/analyzer/manweb does
not exist
make[1]: *** [manweb_installscript] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20/analyzer'
make: *** [analyzer/install.bin] Error 2

!!! ERROR: media-libs/netpbm-10.20 failed.
!!! Function src_install, Line 65, Exitcode 2
!!! make package failed

Expected Results:
The install script should either look in the place where manweb is or the build
script should put it where the install script expects to find it and then it
should copy it to the install directory.

As a workaround:
cp /var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20/manweb
/var/tmp/portage/netpbm-10.20/work/netpbm-10.20/analyzer
ebuild /usr/portage/media-libs/netpbm/netpbm-10.20.ebuild install
ebuild /usr/portage/media-libs/netpbm/netpbm-10.20.ebuild merge

Mass reassign, seems apparently unmaintained now.
Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2005-09-25 04:26:51 UTC
old version, 10.28 is stable
