Description André Terpstra 2015-09-26 07:53:35 UTC
For some reason unknown to me, recently on one box (and this one only, so far) the standard login message from /etc/issue started getting wrapped at the 80-char limit. Strangely, on one login the other day, this behavior returned to normal, but the next time it reappeared and still is there.I can only think of a timing issue, since following login wrapping does not occur anymore.

On this box I use openRC. The only changes I have made /etc/rc.conf are:
> rc_interactive="YES"
> rc_logger="YES"
Also, /etc/inittab has the recommended change:
> c1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty --noclear 38400 tty1 linux

The behavior is the same on all consoles.

please attach the output of `rc-status --all`

also attach `emerge --info` to all of your bug reports, and include util-linux for this one

Having not seen any updates on this bug perhaps I need to clarify that the issue is not fixed. I only meant to say that I added the required information :)

I suppose this one can be closed, I have not experienced this anymore :-)
