Any idea? I am on a gnome/systemd system, eselected the plasma profile and tried to emerge kde-meta. This might be a dup of bug #549622 / bug #549276. (In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #4) > This might be a dup of bug #549622 / bug #549276. Might be related, but I am using the latest versions of binutils. I will check for segfaults and will pro-activaly rebuild all qt packages. I will report back once done. (In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #4) > This might be a dup of bug #549622 / bug #549276. It's a problem with ld.gold. So it is a dup then. Basically yes, but perhaps you should test for gold (tc-ld-is-gold or tc-ld-disable-gold) and handle the situation that way. AFAIK this bug is only triggered when some packages were built with the broken binutils ie. everything works fine if everything is built with latest stable. Is it possible to test for that? (In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #9) > AFAIK this bug is only triggered when some packages were built with the > broken binutils ie. everything works fine if everything is built with latest > stable. Is it possible to test for that? All qt and all *kde* ? I don't know if we ever established exactly which package(s) built with broken binutils caused this particular issue. :/ (In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #11) > I don't know if we ever established exactly which package(s) built with > broken binutils caused this particular issue. :/ In case we have no clear steps to reproduce and no cc's on this bug, i tend to close this bug as "works for me" (In reply to Johannes Huber from comment #12) > (In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #11) > > I don't know if we ever established exactly which package(s) built with > > broken binutils caused this particular issue. :/ > > In case we have no clear steps to reproduce and no cc's on this bug, i tend > to close this bug as "works for me" Please re-open if the offending package is found which causes the hang. |
