xfsprogs-4.2.0 causes this. the older one installs xfs/platform_defs.h which sets up all these things, but the new one does not. (In reply to SpanKY from comment #3) > looks like the new xfsprogs-4.2.0 causes this. the older one installs > xfs/platform_defs.h which sets up all these things, but the new one does not. Yes I can confirm, it worked with xfsprogs 3.2.2 but with 4.2.0 fails to compile. Created attachment 412956 [details, diff]
[JANKYFIX-000 #1 of 3] xfsdump-3.1.4-to-3.1.4-r1.ebuild.patch
[JANKYFIX-000 #1 of 3]
First of a three-patch set. These may or may not represent a rough-cut of a reasonable, upstream-able patch. As-is they are surely not suitable: too many changes (including random corrections) are mashed together into one big patch, also the patch effectively makes xfsdump "adopt" content that xfsprogs deliberately abandoned.
At the very least this could make it easier for someone better equipped to understand xfsdump than I to get a handle on what the surface area of the problem really is.
This first bit is just a fairly trivial ebuild patch. It adds ebuild code to apply the #2 and #3 patches, and regenerate the configure script. That's it.

First one had some clear stupidities already :)

[JANKYFIX-000 #2 of 3] xfsdump-3.1.4-xfsprogs-4.patch
Here is where all the bodies are buried.
Fix many headers not included errors.
Autotoolsy scaffolding to hold it all together.

[JANKYFIX-000 #3 of 3] xfsdump-3.1.4-destdir.patch
Wierd, how did this thing ever work? Meh, don't answer that.
Fix the Makefiles to respect DESTDIR during installation.
All of this is kind of cobbled together and needs more work before it can go upstream. Also, I haven't tested it yet to make sure the xfsdump executable we're creating actually works.
This works for Me i don't see how this is a blocker for a release. xfsprogs-4 is not stable. just in case xfsdump-3.1.5 released. This is fixed in: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/fs/xfs/xfsdump-dev.git/commit/?id=5ce9dae1a5c8aa02f23174ef3521d0732c548928 and present in 3.1.5. The fix is a matter of version bump (In reply to Oleg from comment #11) that helps with __psint_t, but the build is still a hot hot mess. i added a lot of sed statements and a patch to get it to build. http://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=d3fcf50e0abe50480b1676ad861acbbf7220b3a8 |
