Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-18 06:49:01 UTC
ebuild could use the gnome2 eclass more extensively
Comment 3 Nathan Nutter 2004-09-25 22:45:44 UTC
I am very naieve of how ebuilds work, but I notices that the author has his own ebuilds.

To me they looked fairly empty but you guys should look at them maybe?

actually his ebuilds looks fairly ok, I'd have to check if HOMEPAGE really can expand all cases, it ought to, but I'm not sure how well it works with fex. esearch cache (not a biggie, bug in esearch if it doesn't expand ;)

Ebuild for brightside-1.4.0

This is an updated ebuild for version 1.40 (by the author)

I was just about to submit a bug asking for brightside to be added to portage
myself - it would be nice to see it there.

Further ebuilds from the author can be found here:

Comment 6 Amit Kotlovski 2005-06-18 09:10:33 UTC
how can this ebuild be added to the portage tree?
Comment 7 Norman Jonas 2006-04-03 17:40:29 UTC
There are some issues with the ebuild :

- The source package is not available from the authors homepage at the moment.
- Furthermore a patch which can be found here http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/x11/brightside/files/patch-src_brightside.c has to be applied for use with at least libwnck 2.14.
Comment 8 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2007-07-20 19:42:52 UTC
Does anyone know if the project is still alive?
Comment 9 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2007-10-01 19:47:33 UTC
I've added the ebuild to my overlay. To me it seems that the project is dead, so I expect that it stays in my overlay for good.
Comment 10 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2007-11-28 19:44:52 UTC
Dead project, not a candidate for official portage.
