Hello, could it be that you're using opencv-3? This is just what happens if you try to compile openimageio (even the most recent 1.5.18, just checked) with opencv-3. Try to mask >=media-libs/opencv-3.0.0. There are several failures against opencv-3, maybe even a tracker bug would be needed until upstream have all adapted?
