I have just attached my "updated" patches and ebuild for RANCID 3.6.2. I don't claim it is perfect but it's a start, and it works for me. Perhaps once this is in the tree it will be easier for others to make small changes to fix and improve it. I have not updated the mailprefix patch as I do not require this and it seemed like a bit complex to update. Anyone who requires this functionality can probably just stay on 2.3.8 (or better still, rebase the patch and submit it here). I need -git support as well which is now supported upstream, so in time this ebuild should also obsolete the net-misc/rancid-git ebuild.
