But it is:

But the config test (see log) tries to include unicode.h, which is not part of courier-unicode, so it's either a missing dep or the include name is wrong.

I'm not interested in Courier anymore.

Recomendation is migrate to Dovecot.
Feel free to reasign.

This is a bug in courier-imap, not courier, so bug description is wrong.

I pretty much assume this is just a courier-unicode version mismatch.

courier-imap-5.0.7.ebuild

Here's an ebuild for courier-imap-5.0.7 that I am using successfully.
It works with courier-authlib-0.69.0-r1 and courier-unicode-2.1
