app-text/texlive-core-2014-r4 prints the following after merging:

 * If you are migrating from an older TeX distribution
 * Please make sure you have read:
 * http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/tex/texlive-migration-guide.xml
 * in order to avoid possible problems

The link to migration guide is broken - 404 Not Found.

GuideXML documents are still where they were—in the 'gentoo' CVS repo.
The auto-migrated documents as per the instructions we linked multiple times when outlining the migration timeline (https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Gentoo_Wiki:Developer_Central/Project_pages#Migration_from_www.gentoo.org.2Fproj.2F) are still available as well, getting this done should be easy.

You can cc www@ if you want to request a redirect from the old URL to the migrated article on the wiki, although the ebuild really should link to the proper URL.

Anyway... are you sure at this year do we still need to point to a guide for migrating from older tex impls? ;)

no, but iirc the guide had some troubleshooting section that helped in reducing the # of useless bugs received
