Where's the patch from? Mind me asking? Just so I can check that this isn't part of grub-0.95 before I start attacking that.

It is a patch submitted by Boji Toni Kannanthanam of Intel Corporation who sumitted the original ICH5-R code. 

I just checked the 0.95 version of grub, and it appears to have been included, so I guess this can be closed.

As noted above, this patch is included in grub-0.95. Adding bug #55732 as a dependency, where an ebuild for grub-0.95 is provided.
