Description Alexander Jenisch 2004-06-25 10:44:08 UTC
SieFS is a virtual filesystem for accessing Siemens mobile phones' memory (flexmem or MultiMediaCard) from Linux. Now you can mount your phone (by datacable or IRDA) and work with it like with any other removable storage.

It was tested on
S45
ME45
SL45
S55
M55
MC60

It should work also on C55/M50/MT50 with enabled serial interface. There should not be any problems with other new Siemens phones (SL55,C60,etc).

SieFS consists of filesystem module (siefs), command-line utility (slink) and voice memo converter (vmo2wav).

SieFS is based on FUSE, Filesystem in USErspace, an excellent tool for creating custom filesystems with minimal effort. You can download FUSE at http://sourceforge.net/projects/avf.

would be speed up if we had someone with a siemens phone who could submit and test and ebuild.

i'll get a usb-bluetooth adapter on monday, so i can test it.

I have a Siemens phone (M65 and S45). But I can't get SieFS compiled manually with kernel-2.6 and/or gcc-3.4.

Nevertheless it looks like there is a current ebuild in bug 38276. I'll try that one.
