The issue is that the libquvi-0.9.4-r1 ebuild in the mva overlay has a malformed dependency. This line under RDEPEND: virtual/lua[luajit=,${MULTILIB_USEDEP}] ) The ')' at the end is a mistake and should not be there. As far as the traceback goes, I don't want to change that to be more user friendly as the information in the traceback is needed to track down the problem encountered. dev-portage: One question I have is why does emerge accept the bad dependency? Please note, I have reported the ebuild issue upstream to the overlay maintainer. (In reply to Paul Varner from comment #2) > Please note, I have reported the ebuild issue upstream to the overlay > maintainer. Thanks, Paul. I fixed it. // also, I'd like drop *quvi* from overlay at all, when in-tree lua maintainers will introduce virtual/lua and unmask it ;) |
