media-fonts/wangttf/wangttf-20040331.ebuild
the ebuild itself.
**WARNING**
total size of download is more than 600MB, and even more if u USE="type1".
should use font.eclass . well... how do i install type1 fonts wz font.eclass? i've read the eclass myself but found no efficient way to install *both* truetype and type1 fonts. the eclass is merely a set of tools, because there's so many different fontpackages and no unified way they are packaged in. Anyway, aren't the Type1's & TTFs the same fonts in different formats? In that case i don't see the reason for installing type1's. sometimes you use fonts not only for screen displays. the type1 fonts was mainly used with tools like TeX and ps/pdf, as ttf imbue's not working as well at the moment... *** Bug 64537 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Use FONT_SUFFIX to install type1 font. However, it looks we might archive those fonts and put them onto gentoo mirrors. (In this way you can shorten your ebuild, can't you?) I just attempted to try this out and found that the fonts are no longer at the URL in the ebuild. The directory ftp://cle.linux.org.tw/pub2/fonts/wangnew/ is missing; I wasn't able to find them elsewhere on that site, except -- I presume -- in the file: ftp://cle.linux.org.tw/pub2/fonts/utils/DrWangFreeTTF-v1.3-Installer.exe Created attachment 53070 [details]
media-fonts/wangttf-1.3.ebuild
new version of ebuild.
I heard that there was a license issue with wangttf fonts. Palatis, do you know that issue in detail? (Your ebuild set LICENSE to "GPL-2") (this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. [1]: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/sunrise/ [2]: http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/sunrise/wiki/SunriseFaq The SRC_URI is no longer valid. Until a valid one is supplied, we can't add this ebuild to portage. |
