I clarified the merge output to make this error more clear. Not a real fix, but will hopefully allow us to track down more information the next time the bug is encountered. |
After removing some older packages out of the vim directory... I get the following error: root@trolocsis portage # emerge vim Calculating dependencies ...done! >>> emerge app-editors/vim-6.1-r8 to / !!! No message digest found for . !!! Type "ebuild foo.ebuild digest" to generate a digest. !!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/app-editors/vim/vim-6.1-r8.ebuild . I tried: emerge --clean rsync emerge vim and it worked fine. I think this is just on my box after the database/cache was made, but I could be totally wrong. There _are_ digests found in the files/ folder, the error message is a little misleading.
