this patch was extracted from the redhat xorg srpm
it appears to have quite a bit of ppc64-specific patches.
The only thing that we'd probably want to revert for gentoo
is the  have lib64 stuff, as I don't think we want it to
be installing that into the lib64 directory structure like
redhat does.

Perhaps using this patch will fix the module loading issues
in the current release?
