c720 minimal install media from USB boots to kernel, but the kernel fails to find any root devices.  This happens on the Acer c720 (peppy) with 

install-amd64-minimal-20150416.iso
install-amd64-minimal-20150423.iso

additionally, SeaBIOS 181214_15:29 is being used from John Lewis' repository.
