The handbook for x85 tell you to enable "/dev file system support (EXPERIMENTAL)". In 2.6 kernels, it says "/dev file system support (OBSOLETE)"

If it is still to be selected (I think so), it should be mentioned specifically.

This has nothing to do with udev.
Tor is simply telling us that when the handbook tells users to select devfs, it displays the 2.4 label "/dev file system support (EXPERIMENTAL)" but a 2.6 kernel displays "/dev file system support (OBSOLETE)". This might confuse users and make them not select devfs.
