Since 28.01.2015 is libimobiledevice-1.2 at http://www.libimobiledevice.org/ aviable with iOS8 support. Please check this for add to portage - Thanks!

so I put it into ::ixit overlay. Keyworded ~, (c) 2015 and renamed + regenerated Manifests. Works fine.

Even this version does not compile against python3.

Inspired by C10 Bug 567944 ( https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=567944#c10 ) I made a patch and altered the ebuild slightly -- see attached.

Compiles against python 3.4 and seems to work fine.

Errm, 1.2.0 was added in December and it does work with Python 3.
