Some additional info: Using genkernel-next and grub2. sys-kernel/genkernel-next-55 was built with the following: USE="cryptsetup -dmraid -gpg -iscsi -plymouth (-selinux)" ABI_X86="64" sys-boot/grub-2.02_beta2-r3 was built with the following: USE="multislot nls sdl truetype -debug -device-mapper -doc -efiemu (-libzfs) -mount -static -test" ABI_X86="64" GRUB_PLATFORMS="efi-64 -coreboot -efi-32 -emu -ieee1275 -loongson -multiboot -pc -qemu -qemu-mips -xen" CFLAGS="" LDFLAGS=" It seems to be genkernel-related since I have =sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-3.18.7 kernel working without any problems. (In reply to diamond from comment #2) > It seems to be genkernel-related since I have > =sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-3.18.7 kernel working without any problems. Ok, I will try with latest genkernel-next (sys-kernel/genkernel-next-60). After upgrading genkernel-next to =sys-kernel/genkernel-next-60 it boots again! Thank you :) I try if it also works with =sys-kernel/genkernel-next-58. As =sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-3.18.7 is already stabilized, I think we need to stabilize also a newer genkernel-next. This are the results of my tests: =sys-kernel/genkernel-next-55: does not boot =sys-kernel/genkernel-next-58: does not boot =sys-kernel/genkernel-next-60: boots So please consider stabilizing =sys-kernel/genkernel-next-60 I don't know if it is related to this bug, but with the 3.18 kernel the bootup logo (the tuxes for each cpu core) are not shown anymore. And of course CONFIG_LOGO and all subentries are enabled. I just noticed that when I boot with a dedicated AMD graphics card the logo is actually shown but not without it (then using the integrated Intel graphics). My CPU is a i7-4770, graphics should be a "Intel HD Graphics 4600". But as said before, I absolutely do not know if it is related to my original issue. I have the same problem in the computer I maintain with ATI card and I compile my kernel manually... then, I think it is a different problem (if you end up reporting it, please CC me if possible :) please go to bug 546170... version 63 is the new candidate as 60 had other problems |
