I followed install instructions and did bootstrap.sh and got this message:
md5.c:429: internal compiler error: in reload_cse_simplify_operands, at reload1.c:8354
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.

The bug is not reproduceable, so it is likely a hardware or OS problem

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Startup LiveCD and setup partitions.
2. Install Base system.
3. Chroot and run bootstrap.sh

Actual Results:  
Compiling breaks and returns to shell prompt.

Expected Results:  
Should have finished compiling binutils.

emerge was not installed at this point. 
I was running an P4 2.4 Ghz with a via P4PB 400

Can you start again from the beginning, do *exactly* what you did last time, and see if you get *exactly* the same error? If you don't, I suggest you either clock your chip down, check your memory, or send that shiny new computer back for a less broken one (how many of these you do, and in which order, is up to you...).
