After installing harfbuzz with USE="static-libs" emerging media-gfx/splashutils-1.5.4.4-r5 fails with different error: /usr/lib/libharfbuzz.a(libharfbuzz_la-hb-font.o): In function `hb_font_funcs_create': (.text+0x79d): undefined reference to `pthread_mutex_init' Created attachment 395926 [details]

=media-gfx/splashutils-1.5.4.4-r5 can be successfuly built with USE="-harfbuzz" media-libs/freetype I confirm this issue. (In reply to Viktor Yu. Maybe this can fix it for harfbuzz? +1 same issue here. Is anyone interested in supporting this package?
Right now I can't install =media-gfx/splashutils-1.5.4.4-r7::gentoo with any combinations of USE-flags.
