Hello, so in bug 517018 we resolved this issue by forcing caja as a dependency.  Upstream has added an official patch for this issue, and I think it'd be best to use that, instead of the dependency hack that we currently do.
Attached to bug 517018 are two files, attachment 394310 [details, diff] and attachment 394312 [details, diff] which are a patch to the ebuild and the patch from upstream.
Fully tested with 1.8.1, only tested 1.8.0 with ebuild through the compile phase
