That builds. I'm hesitant to actually use it because I'm running a test to see how long the battery on my phone lasts and attaching it to a USB hub would spoil the fun.

It was specifically designed for exchaning files between Linux (and Mac OS X) systems and newer Android devices that support MTP but not USB Mass Storage.
