With gnome-extra/gtkhtml-4.8.3 evolution crashes when "New" button is pressed 
with 

(evolution:28083): Gdk-WARNING **: Native Windows wider or taller than 32767 pixels are not supported
**

Upgrade of gnome-extra/gtkhtml up to 4.8.5 fixes the problem

It's not really a missing dependency on evolution, the crash is due to a bug in older gtkhtml version that is exposed with gtk+-3.14:

Ok, but upgrade of gnome 3.12 -> 3.14 does not upgrade gtkhtml. I spent couple of hours to find the source of the problem.

Did you update with "emerge -avuDN world"? It should update all your packages instead of keeping that old version (it's not ever the current stable version)

Of course, no :). I did 

emerge gnome

But I sure it will better to have gtkhtml-4.8.3 in conflict with gtk+ 3.14.
