It may be a bit into the future before we see a fully working app from it, but it HAS already been relesed a app for windows/linux using a interface called "Wasabi" (Winamp3) wich still lives on and is currently under development. Also Winamp3 lives on renamed to Wasabi-player (i e the player based on Wasabi).
May couse confusion and other various problems?

Nope.  portage supports same names, different categories just fine.
