any luck to open a bug upstream? (In reply to Markos Chandras from comment #1) > any luck to open a bug upstream? Happy to do so but this seems to me to be a glaring obvious fault, yet it's been around for two months at least with apparently only me noticing, so I did want to be sure that it's definitely a bug before going upstream. I presume you are being hit by it as well? unfortunately i am not using multi-seat setup I confirm the bug. I was using an old Lightdm version since quite a long time, but recently I updated. So, the "bug" appeared. I searched an explanation and found why: there is now a dependence upon systemd... Indeed, lightdm developers now use seat specification provided by systemd. I don't want to raise another debate about systemd, but at least the ebuild should show a dependence on systemd when wanting to do multiseat. I hope there is some other solution to have multiseat while not having systemd, but I don't think so. The only other solution I imagine would be to implement "static seat" whatever systemd seats are declared or not. To me, that could be a "feature" request to do at Lightdm devs. This is an acknowledged deficiency in lightdm but AFAICT there are no plans to fix it. |
