That's a clever trick (the core module is only present in 2.4.x). But our pnp4nagios ebuild is stable, so we probably shouldn't mess with it. Instead, we can revbump it and from now on only support apache-2.4.x, since that's what we're doing with nagios as well. Created attachment 395736 [details]

Here's a version bump that fixes this. It also lets the apache user read /etc/pnp by default, and sets an upper bound on the version of nagios (it doesn't like nagios-4.x).
