if there is an error message give, please report it in full. here is a full popup error shows to me: The Application "rhythmbox" has quit unexpectedly. You can inform the developers of what happened to help them fix it. Or you can restart the application right now. Restart application close inform developers you mentioned an error about loading .png files in your first post. I was looking for the full version of that error. yes , it shows me both of errors, one time crashes me and asks me to inform developers, another time tells me for not loading png files "playlist.png" I dunno know what to do with this. what is your 'emerge info' ? root@roboti portage # emerge -p rhythmbox These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild N ] media-sound/rhythmbox-0.8.3 root@roboti portage # compile is successfully but when I am going to open it then shows me the errors. can you attach the full rhythmbox build log ? And you still haven't pasted your 'emerge info' as requested. here is the 'emerge info', i submited an rhythmbox info because I thought you want to see that, but here is 'emerge info': root@roboti milot # emerge info Portage 2.0.50-r6 (default-x86-2004.0, gcc-3.3.3, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.4.26) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.26 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Mobile CPU 1.70GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.4.10 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58-r1 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X alsa apm arts avi berkdb cdr crypt encode esd foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 imlib jpeg libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mozilla mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd truetype x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib" root@roboti milot # I experience a crash, too - always have with gnome 2.6. Get this error msg: (rhythmbox:26989): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: g_object_set_valist: construct property "property-model" for object `RBPropertyView' can't be set after construction Found an URL about this problem, but no solution: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/rhythmbox-devel/2003-December/msg00086.html Borje different problem : different bug I am using gnome 2.7.1 and shows me this errmsg: Rhythmbox-ERROR **: file rb-cell-renderer-rating.c: line 144 (rb_cell_renderer_rating_init): assertion failed: (cellrating->priv->pix_star) aborting... mshala Milot : can't you read.. & you are using gnome-2.7.1 what are you doing here ? We do not provide it, go annoy other ppl. You use unstable stuff : _EXPECT_ it to break, try to wrap your head around that one mr.i-need-to-be-on-the-cutting-edge. it's same problem and in stable stuff! I had this problem both in gnome-2.6 and gnome-2.7.1 , can somebody fix this? or not? -Invisible. well your eagerness to test unstable stuff signals to me your whole system might be like that & because you are the only one experiencing the problem i cannot help but think that it might be your own fault. ok I thanks for information, I would try to fix this , or if is this problem just why I am using unstable stuff I would switch to stable stuff :). Respect, mshala not our problem then |
