Another weird image

Description Honza 2004-06-04 10:33:19 UTC
While first image of gif sequence is normal, other seems like colors are randomly switched. In mozilla everything looks ok, so it isn't bad image.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. zgv msice2.gif
2. press 'e'

I will attach one of that bad-animated gifs.

Re-assign a stale bug. Jonathan, could you please verify if this is still an issue?
Comment 3 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-29 08:29:17 UTC
Please, reopen if this still is an issue with zgv-5.8.
Comment 4 Honza 2006-05-29 13:40:01 UTC
Everytime anyone ask this question, another question appear in my mind: was really something changed, or it's only someone is optimistic ?

Yes, it's still problem in zgv-5.8 (and I upgraded giflib-4.1.4 just in case and no change). I have attached example image to this bug - you can see yourself (compare how it looks in firefox and in zgv). Or does it work for you ?

Another image which look normal in firefox and horrible in zgv. It was assembled with GIF Construction Set (at least comment in file is saying that) - it's possible every gif from this program looks this way (I don't have it, so I can't say).

No, it's just that you didn't even post which version did you encounter this issue with...

This bug is pretty stale and the ebuild lacks a maintainer, upstream ain't overly active either, so don't really expect this to be fixed anytime soon unless you have a patch. It's not a Gentoo-specific issue anyway, most likely.
Comment 7 Honza 2006-05-29 14:44:10 UTC
Oh. I really didn't. Still, if you have svgalib and zgv (which you maybee haven't - ebuild maintainer should have, but you're not maintainer as I originally though), it's easy to verify it.

Even some of my bugreports on ebuilds which have maintainers have little progress. Like the X.org one. Still, I think it's better to file a report that do nothing.

No maintainer, not Gentoo-specific; please report this upstream.
