Description Vlastimil Babka (Caster) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-11-01 22:59:11 UTC
Unfortunately I had to drop minor arch keywords on latest bumps due to new deps and security fix pressure for amd64/x86. Sorry.

To restore things, we need the following:
~arm ~ia64 ~ppc ~ppc64
dev-java/icedtea-web-1.5.1
dev-java/icedtea-6.1.13.5-r1
~ia64 only for icedtea:7
dev-java/icedtea-sound-1.0.1
dev-java/icedtea-7.2.5.3

Note that icedtea-web-1.5.1 has a new USE=tagsoup with use-dependency on dev-java/tagsoup. This has around 35 java packages deptree to build. It's fine if you want to skip that and package.use.mask the flag instead. I don't expect many users will miss that.

Thanks a lot.

I think this has been resolved enough to close this.

- We are dropping ia64 entirely.
- tagsoup now has ~arm ppc ppc64 KEYWORDS.
- The latest icedtea 6 and/or 7, plus sound and web, now have ~ppc and ~arm KEYWORDS.
- icedtea-6.1.13.5 has ~ppc64 as requested but it's really needed on the later versions. Unfortunately there have been problems with this but that falls outside the scope of this bug report.

I see both 1.13.5 and 2.4.8 are still in the tree. Both these versions are very dated and insecure. Why are they still present?

There are several bugs concerning that specifically. This isn't one of them. :) I am using bug #537940 as the main base of operations. The primary blocker to removing them is the ppc64 issue. Although only 7 segfaulted during the build, 6 segfaulted while trying icedtea-web so I'm lacking confidence in it.
