Description Dylan Carlson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-01 02:23:09 UTC
Just my thoughts on this -- silc-toolkit should be providing shared libs only.

Since the client is packaged and versioned separately (and more current) from the toolkit, we should not have the toolkit providing client binaries. --without-irssi should be the default and remove the "client" USE flag.

Additionally, we should add a new package for silc-server, which is also packaged & versioned separately from the toolkit and remove that from silc-toolkit. Cheers

rizzo, I added net-im/silc-toolkit-0.9.12-r2 to CVS. Made CFLAGS aware and it
now installs shared libraries, so gaim can link to them instead the static ones.
I compiled gaim with USE=silc and it seems to work fine. Could you please test?

Sven it looks good from my end.

OK, latest versions in portage don't block each other. Also added an ebuild for silc-server. Closing.
