Without network access, sonata is unable to connect to mpd and will print the error "getsockaddrarg: bad family", even when the mpd host is localhost and no network access should be required

Please define "without network access". When net.lo is stopped, localhost access won't be possible either.

1) Please post your `emerge --info media-sound/sonata' output in a comment.
2) Please explain in steps (and configuration settings) what you are trying to do and what happens next.
