I'm afraid i can't find how app-misc/mc is expected to find presence of net-ftp/ftp (it's only 3 files, 2 of them are man pages). It does very dumb thing: https://github.com/MidnightCommander/mc/blob/master/src/vfs/ftpfs/ftpfs.c#L2400 Does deinstaling net-ftp/ftp makes problem reappear for you? (In reply to Sergei Trofimovich from comment #1) > I'm afraid i can't find how app-misc/mc is expected to find > presence of net-ftp/ftp (it's only 3 files, 2 of them are man pages). > > It does very dumb thing: > > https://github.com/MidnightCommander/mc/blob/master/src/vfs/ftpfs/ftpfs. > c#L2400 > > Does deinstaling net-ftp/ftp makes problem reappear for you? ... and now I feel really stupid. I had this problem on three different systems, and the problem disappeared after installing ftp (no changes to .netrc file). Hence the bug filing. Removing net-ftp/ftp does not make the problem reappear. I'm sorry for the time you lost searching for this bug. And, of course, thank you. Oh, it's OK, don't worry. Just make sure it's not some dumb error, like mc ran under sudo or .netrc created with another user. Please, reopen this bug if you'll find a culprit in mc. |
