Version net-im/ekg-1.8_rc1-r1 builds fine for me both on amd64 and x86 with USE="ncurses readline ssl zlib". Also works as expected. Couldn't find any info that upstream is abandoned or points to net-im/ekg2. There is only information about ekg2 as an alternative. Of course version bump would be nice. Just tried it by renaming ebuild file and removing all patches (probably stupid thing to do) - it built also fine. Thus I think that removing it is premature. It could stay in unstable branch with some bugs open since it apparently works for some users. Tomasz, are you using ekg? If so, do you want to maintain it? Sorry for not replying, for some reason I didn't get (or missed) the notification email. I'm using ekg sporadically but I don't think I could maintain it since I lack the skills needed. I meant that since it works for some people, it could be kept with unstable keywords (that implies bugs/problems). I could also review patches that are applied for the latest version in the tree and see if they are needed in newer version or should be dropped. There is attachement in bug report #381051 with contains ebuild + patches. removed |
