After a discussion on irc my plan is to land this after testing reverse dependencies, hard masking the new version if needed. Created attachment 385088 [details, diff]
protobuf.patch
This is an updated patch that makes it work with USE="python".
Use slot "0" of dev-python/python-dateutil (which supports both Python 2 and Python 3) instead of deprecated slot "python-2". Actually dev-libs/protobuf-2.6.0 should not depend at all on dev-python/python-dateutil and dev-python/python-gflags. (In reply to Arfrever Frehtes Taifersar Arahesis from comment #4) > Actually dev-libs/protobuf-2.6.0 should not depend at all on > dev-python/python-dateutil and dev-python/python-gflags. Fixed in the tree. |
