i have a commercial app for redhat that uses a lib that lib-compat doesn't have
the libs the package installs is 
libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so
libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 -> libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so
they are available in the package 
libstdc++-2.96-98.i386.tar.gz in redhat 7.2
