Yay! Intermittent and difficult-to-reproduce bug, just what i wanted. I didn't have this issue on the two test systems and two test accounts that i tried. I wonder if it makes a difference that i bumped to 24.7 first? Anyhow, thanks, i'll watch out for this and try to track upstream bugs and progress... I haven't had any luck reproducing this. Note that I don't have anything special in my thunderbird profiles though; the only extension i carry (other than the system-installed ones like enigmail and calendar) is for reordering accounts in the sidebar. However, I have not had any issues going forwards *or* backwards between any pair of {24.7,24.8,31.0,31.1}.
Patrick, on freenode i think you mentioned there are some custom profile or extension settings in the profiles you're managing? i don't suppose there's any way to obtain some sort of (redacted) diff between a 24.x profile and a working one built from scratch in 31.x ?
In my case thunderbird don't ask me for any mail server password for my accounts with non-saved passwords. The master password is requested, and the accounts with saved passwords are working fine. I did an upgrade from mail-client/thunderbird-24.8.0 to mail-client/thunderbird-31.2.0-r1 Patrick if you would please explain how you where able to migrate to 31.x for those who are effected by same profile issue you where having please. If you feel I have closed your bug and it is still a current issue, please reopen and update it completely. We will not work bugs that have no ebuild in tree any longer or can not be reproduced with a current system. Thank You for your support and understanding The Mozilla Team |
