Shiny is a server for hosting Shiny applicatins, web-sites written in dev-lang/R for interactive data analysis.

There are instructions for installing from git at https://github.com/rstudio/shiny-server/wiki/Building-Shiny-Server-from-Source and it would be great to have this in portage.

I'll try and start learning how to write ebuilds for git (I see thre is an eclass detailed at https://devmanual.gentoo.org/eclass-reference/git.eclass/index.html ), but with a young baby have little free time these days. I've very limited experience in writing ebuilds (I did write an ebuild for sci-biology/plink before it was in portage, and thought I submitted it here but can't find it, have written a couple of others that were taken by the science overlay team sci-biology/merlin https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121921 and sci-biology/generecon https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128514).
