Description brad 2014-07-24 06:18:24 UTC
after adding avalon and avalon2 to make.conf, I receive the error -> No devices found!

I was able to get butterflylabs gear to working using same method.

I went looking on the irc and was told:
<Luke-Jr> pEYEd: I never figured out how to get my Avalon2 to work..
* aliasaila has quit (Quit: Leaving)
<pEYEd> Luke-Jr are you on gentoo?
<Luke-Jr> pEYEd: yes
* BotaniCar|2 (~BotaniCar@78-0-225-179.adsl.net.t-com.hr) has joined
<pEYEd> crap.
<Luke-Jr> I also maintain BFGMiner
* spydeee (~spydee@adsl-199-19-168-119.dynamic.caneris.com) has joined
* ELI5 has quit ()
<pEYEd> Oh! so it really doesn't work then... :/

Well, I don't have avalon 2 device myself, so I can't offer specific help.
It's raspberry pi, right?
Check that SPI is enabled:
modprobe i2c-bcm2708
modprobe i2c-dev
modprobe spi-bcm2708
ls /dev/spi*
If no devices found:
lsmod
zcat /proc/config.gz  | grep BCM2708

Avalon2 doesn't use SPI or i2c, it's a USB VCOM device.

Re the log from 3 months ago... Note that in the meantime, I have completed a working BFGMiner driver.

@reporter: We'll keep this bug open but I only proxy maintain this and don't use it myself. I can't be of much help here.
