If it is dying at different places in the build process each time you try it, you very likely have defective RAM (use "memtest86" to test (see freshmeat)) or a flaky CPU. Compiling X is a very good hardware test. I'm marking this as WORKSFORME since you are having it die in various places which should not happen if this is a software problem. |
